BBC presenter tapped to chair 2017 Global E-commerce Summit
An avid writer, Kate started reporting about technology and the Internet in 1995 and is now the longest standing member on the BBC World Click reporting team.
As a technology reporter for the BBC, Kate gains access to leading edge technology destined to impact daily activities and shape the future of business to consumer engagement. In 2012, Kate capitalized on that insight to write her first book ‘Working the Cloud’ — a collection of online tips, tricks and resources for small businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs who want to get ahead online.
Her website, KateRussell.co.uk, won the 2015 U.K. Blog Awards for best individual digital and technology blog, and in June 2016 she was voted the Computer Weekly 13th most influential woman in U.K. IT. It’s a distinction evidenced by her continuous involvement in U.K. and global policy meetings to help shape the way the internet is governed.
Amidst such an active schedule, Kate also carves out time to speak at conferences and lecture in schools and universities to educate and inspire the next generation of digital inquisitors. The Global E-commerce Summit is pleased to have Kate join its Feature Stage as its MC and Moderator.
